Infant, toddler, & child sleep consultant in Austin, Texas offering virtual support for families
Welcome! You are here because you want to nurture your child and optimize your rest. With the right support, you can do both.
If you are an expectant parent who wants to know more about infant sleep and how to best prepare for the arrival of your little one, or if you are the parent of a child of any age who struggles with sleep and looking for sleep support (without sleep training), then you are in the right place.

Hi, I’m Sarah, and I help families feel better rested and more at ease about their child’s sleep. My mission is to help families develop realistic expectations and create a vision for responsive nighttime parenting during the early years.
My postpartum period with my oldest was filled with considerable challenges as my husband’s parents were in a devastating car accident when our son was just three weeks old. The day before the accident, I was exhausted from cluster-feeds. A close friend told me about her love for the parent-directed feeding concept, so I looked into it and contemplated going with the eat-play-sleep schedule. What I read made me think I was doing it all wrong and that my child would never sleep unless I ‘taught’ him. But the accident was such a distraction to my research and overthinking that I entered survival mode; my instincts kicked in and I followed my intuition to do what I felt was best for our son – even if it didn’t match what the ‘sleep experts’ said.
In addition to the struggles of the early days, the time just before our son turned 2 was tough due to the continued frequent wakeups. Undoubtedly, there were moments of sleep deprivation and exhaustion that had me searching social media, books, and websites to find a recipe for a quick fix. None of these sources understood my parenting philosophy or knew a thing about my child, but blanket statements and quick fixes were everywhere. Sleep training, schedules, and even a focus on healthy sleep hygiene weren’t the solution to our struggles in the early days or the throes of toddlerhood – finding support to validate my intuition and process the challenges were key for us.
To create space for the season of early parenting, I sought professional guidance to process the challenges and lean into my knowing. I learned to trust myself to know what my child needed. I learned that books and websites don’t have all the answers. And I learned to tune out advice that didn’t resonate. While many advice-givers have the best of intentions, their suggestions don’t always take into account your baby’s temperament and wiring, your parenting style, and/or your family’s situation.
Now over a decade into this parenting gig, I can say that so many foundational lessons came from those early days; there are still challenges that ebb and flow with the changes in developmental stage or daily capacity (mine or children’s!). It takes a village, and I continue to have my own support people to lean on. While one of our kids sleeps solidly through the night, the other seeks out our support more nights than not – and that’s normal! Needing co-regulation isn’t a problem to be fixed or extinguished; rather, it is a need for us to accommodate. Providing support through co-regulation should not be seen as a crutch, as it is the foundation of connection. And when we meet children’s needs through connection, we build their sense of felt safety.
Wholehearted Nighttime Parenting Support
I transitioned my postpartum doula business to fill the void for responsive parenting sleep support. I couldn’t find a local sleep consultant who matched our needs and philosophy, so I created this niche specialty to fill that gap for Austin. While the only expert on your child is YOU – the parent – you need support to feel your best, as it’s harder to nurture when you are exhausted. My services are built on a foundation of emotional support, lived experience, practical knowledge, clinical experience, and developmental science. I will be your family sleep doula to help you get adequate rest, find your parenting groove, and tune in to what you know is best for you, your baby, and your family. You have the answers; I help you uncover them.
It isn’t always easy, but it is always worth it.
